Before he did any work or gave us any estimates, he recommended we contact landscapers to install drainage to deal with the puddle first because that was the most pressing issue. After having drainage installed we had Dan come back, fill the crack, install a French drain on that side of the house, replace the sump pump and run a new drain pipe for the pump. His team was super quick, they were done in one day. It was clear that what he was most interested in was helping us resolve our issues whether that meant him getting a job or not.
